These alabaster bookends feature the scene of the Annunciation. Able to keep heavy books in line, they both organize and decorate your home. This pair of bookends makes the perfect personal gift for all parents and anyone who has a devotion to the Holy Family.
The original artwork is the oil painting Finding in the Temple by contemporary artist Jason Jenicke.
The bookends are made from stone-cast alabaster here in our shop in Steubenville, Ohio. Alabaster is a building and decorating material created from the mineral gypsum that has been used since the time of the ancient Egyptian Pharaohs. It boasts an attractive smooth finish.
Each measures roughly 6" x 8", including the 4"x 6" inset image plaque, and is 3" deep.
Text reads:
"Thinking that he was in the caravan, they journeyed for a day and looked for him among their relatives and acquaintances, but not finding him, they returned to Jerusalem to look for him. After three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions, and all who heard him were astounded at his understanding and his answers." -Luke 2:44-47
