Annunciation by Giovanni di Paolo - 3 Framed Options
This section of an illuminated manuscript features the Annunciation by the Italian Renaissance artist Giovanni di Paolo and also contains a Latin script and several coats of arms.
This rendition of the Annunciation by Giovanni di Paolo c. 1445 is truly unique and beautiful. It is approx. 12" x 15" framed in an ornate wood frame under nonglare glass.
Many thanks to Fr. Dave Cornett who recently submitted the following regarding the text at the bottom of the painting:
Hello,
I was recently given a print of bercherne, Giovanni di Paulo Annunciation 1445, and before displaying it in our parish church, I have been researching its history and trying to get a translation of the printing in the lower half of the painting.
The painting was a cover panel to an accounting book for Gabella General. I believe that the printing is in Italian and seems to make reference to that book, and includes the dates of the book-keeping I believe 1444-1445. Because of the style I am not able to decipher each letter much less each word, but will continue my quest for a complete interpretation.
God Bless,
Fr. Dave Cornett
